Dr. Chris Imperial
Dr. Chris Imperial developed a passion for family medicine early in his medical career. Raised in a family of seven in a small town in Texas, he learned the value of caring for each individual member of a busy family. In fact, Dr. Imperial was raised by two physicians who inspired his dedication to the field of medicine. He observed his parents being involved in their community and rubbing shoulders with patients all over town.
The small town where he grew up inspired his dedication to his community. It's accurate to say that our DPC in the Brazos Valley is equally rooted in family and foundation! Seeing our patients around town, running into families at the grocery store or church, and cheering on every little league game and soccer match are the reasons we strive to provide excellent healthcare as a direct care provider in our community. Dr. Imperial's patients are at the heart of our family practice.
Dr. Imperial completed his undergraduate education at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He met his future wife during his time in San Antonio and married just a few short years after completing his degree. Dr. Imperial went on to medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, where he received a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.

His focus during his time in medical school was on whole health and holistic care. Throughout his own journey in the field of medicine (and in life), Dr. Imperial has learned the immense value of aligning one's physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The osteopathic philosophy of medicine teaches that the human body has the ability to heal itself but at times needs help in acheiving health.
Likewise, direct primary care focuses on getting to the root of illness in order to bring about health. While studying about holistic wellness, Dr. Imperial's family grew along with his medical knowledge, with four kids coming during med school!
The young and daring Imperial family traveled to Kingston, New York, for Dr. Imperial's family medicine residency training and from there back to Texas and the community they loved. They learned a lot about themselves as their faith was challenged, stretched, and ultimately took root in this newfound place. At Rooted Family Health, we want to help families navigate their own journeys toward their own wellness.
After 21 years of practicing traditional healthcare, Dr. Imperial decided it was time to turn to a simpler model. Accessible and excellent healthcare is his number one priority as a Direct Primary Care (DPC)in the Brazos Valley. The direct primary care model combines the traditional doctor-patient relationship built on trust and great rapport with an innovative new financial model.
It's time to return to focusing on people, not third-party mandates and control. Whether you have insurance or you're under-insured or have no insurance at the moment, our practice is here for you. We also specialize in serving small businesses within our community through affordable healthcare for employees. After all, your team is like a family too! Dr. Imperial is committed to providing the best quality care at a fee scale that's accessible to every patient.
