Trey Lovett, PA-C
William H. "Trey" Lovett, III, MMS, MPH, PA-C, has dedicated his career to compassionate patient care, bringing a wealth of diverse experience to every interaction.
Trey, his wife, and their two children (as well as their dog, cats, and growing flock of chickens) have made Bryan their home, where he is also an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Trey's educational journey began at the University of Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. He further refined his expertise by obtaining a Master's degree in Public Health with an emphasis in International Health and Epidemiology from the University of Alabama Birmingham, and a Master's in Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
After a few years’ work in emergency medicine and urgent care, for over a decade he worked in family medicine at the Baylor Scott and White Salado clinic, forming strong bonds with his patients.
Since 2019, he has worked with the excellent physicians at Central Texas Gastroenterology Consultants, helping patients navigate complex gastrointestinal health challenges. He has also worked with Docishere in the Bryan, College Station area, bringing family medicine and urgent care directly to patients’ homes.
Trey’s background spans nearly every setting a primary care provider can work in. Early in his career, he cared for patients in rural clinics, a busy trauma center emergency department, and an internal medicine practice. He then spent over a decade in family medicine at Baylor Scott & White in Salado, one of five primary care providers at a clinic consistently ranked in the top 5% of the entire Central Texas system for “Likelihood to Recommend.”
Along the way, he has also precepted and mentored many nursing and PA students, and proudly served for many years as a Captain in the Texas State Guard Medical Brigade, responding to emergencies across the state of Texas.
Before becoming a physician assistant, Trey’s passion for global health took him across the world. He lived in Lusaka, Zambia, where he worked on an HIV research study at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, helping hire and train laboratory staff, design the lab, and more.
He also returned to Zambia for medical mission work, sharing the love of Jesus in remote places through the mechanism of medical care. In Peru, he worked on a malaria drug-resistance project with the Naval Medical Research Unit, performing microscopy in the field.
Now, we’re thrilled to say, Trey is bringing his incredible skills and compassionate care to Rooted Family Health!
